THE GUY BEHIND THE CAMERA I don’t know about you but if you are like me and I expect many of you are this is the hardest part of building this web site. I prefer to be the guy behind the camera. But who is that guy? It is interesting how I remember events in my life through mental pictures. If I shared all of them this would end up being a book. My life started at a different time, 1938, in a small town in eastern Wyoming. One of my mental pictures of those years is a snowy owl that spent a few days in a tree by our house one winter. I had to check every morning to see if he was still there.

I think my love of photography has its foundation in those early mental pictures. I soon realized that I could record the events on film and share them with others. Starting with a box camera and then eventually to 35mm slr’s, twin lens reflex cameras, and a darkroom so I could control my output. I worked to improve my skills by completing the New York School of Photography course.

I love to experience the wild outdoors and have run rivers, climbed peaks, and traveled miles of trails leaving only footprints and taking only pictures. Sadly, for many years they were only mental pictures. In 2003 I again purchased a camera I have fully embraced the digital world. It is so liberating to be able to shoot a string of pictures without the ring of the cash register associated with film and processing. I can enjoy the creativity and print what I need. The web allows me to share the adventures in light and color with any who find their way to my web site.

I have said “I” to many times already. It is time to give credit to whom is ultimately responsible for this world and all that is in it. In the introduction you will find that the creator God provides the pictures. I can only record the moment in His time. He leads me to some incredible pictures. I pray that they will help you experience His love as you get a glimpse of a moment of His time.
